Neglecting Already

Forgive me for neglecting this blog already. When I go out to speak to groups about Web 2.0 the first thing I tell them is that if they’re going to start a blog, don’t let it become stale. And after 2 entries, what have I done?

Allow me to explain.

Being a new professional means I’m young, I’m 20-something. Now everyone keeps referring to this age as “that time” of my life. What does “that time” mean? Well, evidentially it means that everyone and their dig is getting married or having babies. I’m mostly caught up in the getting married part right now. I have no less than three weddings that I will be standing in this summer. Oh – did I happen to mention in one of those I’m the bride? My very best friend from childhood is getting married in just two short weeks. I’m over the moon for her and her husband-to-be. Honestly, they’re the kind of couple that books should be written about. Just so absolutely and utterly in love. Another friend of mine will be married in July, and 4 weeks later I’ll walk down the aisle and become Rhonda McMeekin.

So as you can appreciate, on top of my normal workload, and beginning the preparations for the incoming class of fall 2010, planning weddings and to add the icing on the cake, having been sick for nearly 2 weeks my newly minted blog has already had to take a backburner in my life.

Things have been hectic at work. MI hosted the Student Affairs professional development day for Memorial University this past week. I played MI Hostess, MC and presenter. I also hosted a concurrent session where I discussed with my colleagues all of the neat things we’re doing at MI from a social media perspective. There was lots of interesting dialogue and I hope those who attended my session enjoyed themselves.

Time is slowly getting closer for the annual CACUSS conference, being hosted in Edmonton this year. I’m excited to be presenting with two fabulous ladies, Angie Clarke and Leslie Noftall. If you’re going to be at the Conference make sure you look up our presentation! I can’t wait to check out Edmonton and see all that Canada’s west has to offer!

That’s all for now, Happy Friday all!
